| Students may complete lower division prerequisites and General Education requirements at other colleges. Courses taken at other colleges must carry credit that is transferable to SJSU and be equivalent in content and units to those courses required by the Major. New Requirements effective Spring 2007 - The last 30 semester or 45 quarter units of coursework calculated in the score for entry to the School of Nursing will be limited by the following: 1) All courses will include at least 3 semester or 4 quarter units of academic credit. One and two semester unit courses (and their quarter unit equivalents) are excluded. 2) A course that has been repeated to improve a grade is excluded. All courses included in the 30 semester unit (and their quarter unit equivalents) calculation must be taken for the first time. Admission to SJSU does not guarantee admission to the Nursing Major. Students must complete all nine prerequisite courses before applying to the School of Nursing. Please contact School of Nursng for specific prerequisite requirements (408-924-3131). Only grades of "C" or better will be acceptable. If a student earns less than a "C" grade, the student may repeat the prerequisite course only once. | ||
Please Note: A change in prerequisites occurred for students applying to the School of Nursing after Spring 2007. This change means that the School of Nursing's prerequisite courses will be in alignment with other CSU campuses offering nursing as a major. Check with the School of Nursing frequently regarding the anticipated changes. | ||
