Commuter Student permit parking is restricted to 5 areas:
West Garage (4th Street), located at S. 4th and E. San Carlos Streets. Pay stations are located on each floor of the garage except the roof. Pay stations do not accept $20.00 bills. Pay stations accept Visa and Mastercard credit cards.
North Garage (10th Street), located at S. 10th and E. San Fernando Streets. General parking is on the third floor and above. Pay stations are located on the third floor and above. Pay stations do not accept $20.00 bills. Pay stations accept Visa and Mastercard. Thirty-minute parking is available in posted spaces only.
South Garage (7th Street), located at 7th and E. San Salvador Streets. General parking starts at section 2H and continues up to the roof. The upper South half of the roof is restricted to “E,” “H,” and Carpool Permits from 7:00 am to noon. Pay stations are located in the 1st floor disabled parking area, and section 2H and above. Pay stations do not accept $20.00 bills. Pay stations accept Visa and Mastercard.
Park and Ride Lot, located at S. 7th and E. Humboldt Streets across from Spartan Stadium. Additional parking is available in the Municipal Stadium Lot on Alma at 10th Street only when the Park and Ride Lot is full. Park and Ride day passes are not valid in the main campus garages. Pay stations do not accept $20.00 bills or Visa or Mastercard.
Perimeter Parking starting from S. 4th and E. San Fernando Streets, S. 10th Street to E. San Salvador Street, E. San Salvador to the end of the South Garage. Watch for “S” permit signs. Perimeter parking is limited to 3 hours. Permits from the pay stations are not valid in the perimeter parking spaces. SJSU permits are not valid in the "S.U.N." parking areas. The City of San José strictly enforces parking on the perimeter and in the neighborhood.
