The California State University does not discriminate on the basis of age, genetic information, marital status, medical condition, nationality, race or ethnicity (including color and ancestry), religion (or religious creed), and veteran or military status - as these terms are defined in CSU policy - in its programs and activities, including admission and access. Federal and state laws, including Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the California Equity in Higher Education Act, prohibit such discrimination.
CSU Executive Order 1097 (www.calstate.edu/EO/EO-1097-rev-6-23-15.pdf) is the systemwide procedure for all complaints of discrimination, harassment or retaliation made by students against the CSU, a CSU employee, other CSU students or a third party. The Director of Compliance has been designated to coordinate the efforts of San José State University to comply with all applicable federal and state laws prohibiting discrimination on these bases.
