Knowing yourself and your limits

Though SJSU has strict policies about underage drinking, students will inevitably be tempted by alcohol and/or other drug opportunities - even a troublesome excess of caffeine in their coffees and sodas. Seek help when you need it. And if you experience emotional, academic or health problems that jeopardize your college career, contact Counseling Services at 408-924-5910.

Students who have been on medication (e.g., Ritalin, Prozac) sometimes think they can just drop it when they reach college. This often causes difficulties, and is an increasingly common issue in Counseling Services and at the Student Health Center. All changes in medication should be discussed carefully with a physician. Many student health services are free for SJSU students.
