Spartan Athletics

The women's and men's sports teams at San José State University compete at the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I-A level. SJSU is a member of the Western Athletic Conference.

The total number of intercollegiate teams sponsored by Spartan Athletics is sixteen. Athletics also oversees the spirit teams. Under separate supervision, the university fields intercollegiate "club sport" teams in bowling, fencing, judo and ice hockey.

Competition in Division I-A teams means competing among the top college athletes in the nation. To be considered for a tryout and/or an athletic scholarship, contact the head coach of the sport.
