Nursing

The School of Nursing offers a program for a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and admits students, based on available resources, to the program every semester. The program prepares the individual for professional nursing practice in a variety of institutional and community settings and also for continuing education and graduate study. Extended campus facilities include a wide variety of community health care agencies for clinical experience. Students must provide their own transportation to these extended campus facilities.

The program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and the California State Board of Registered Nurses. Graduates are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN licensure examination.

Program for Registered Nurses

Students who hold the RN license and Associate Degree in Nursing may qualify for exceptions to standard transfer admission requirements. Contact the department's Advanced Placement program at 408-924-3171 for more information.
