A sampling of employers of recent graduates includes Intel, Applied Materials, Lockheed Martin, NASA-Ames Research Center, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Sun Microsystems, Cisco Systems, Chevron, Bechtel Corporation, the Environmental Protection Agency, National Semiconductor, U.S. Steel, Philips Semiconductors, Apple Computer, TRW, General Electric, Pacific Gas and Electric, Westinghouse, and many city and county agencies.
The American Electronics Association survey states that 1500 of the top 2500 electronics firms (60 percent) are within 30 miles of San José State University. Engineering has had the highest starting salaries of new graduates every year for the past 15 years, according to a survey of U.S. News and World Report.
