The Engineering building occupies about 300,000 square feet of space, consisting of 115 laboratories and other support facilities. The laboratories have state-of-the-art equipment in order to provide students with an excellent engineering laboratory experience. In addition, the facility supports the establishment of university/industry cooperative programs for instruction, student projects, faculty development and research.
One of the major strengths of the engineering programs at San José State is the emphasis that all departments place on laboratory and lecture-laboratory courses. The facility gives engineering students access to an increasing number of hands-on laboratory and lecture-laboratory courses. All the laboratories in the building are linked by a network to provide student access to the outstanding computer facilities available in the College of Engineering and to information resources worldwide.
