The program in Human Resource Management provides the academic foundation for careers concerned with the acquisition, development and effective utilization of the human resources of the individual organization and economic system as a whole. This area of study is concerned broadly with the many tasks of human resource management, including workforce planning, staffing, training, performance management and employee development, employment and unemployment, leadership in the supervision and coordination of employees, union-management relations, wage compensation and reward systems, evaluation of employment performance, national and international human resource policies and programs, and organizational behavior, change management and leadership. The program qualifies graduates for positions in private and public organizations.
