Certificate - Graduate TESOL

Any matriculated graduate student may pursue this certificate. The certificate is designed to meet the needs of individuals desiring formal course preparation and training as classroom teachers of English to speakers of other languages but not requiring an MA degree. While the certificate is approved by the university, it does not provide certification, accreditation, or credentialing approved by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Students must maintain a 3.0 average in these courses to be awarded the certificate.

Three units (of an equivalent course) are transferable into the program. Foreign students must have minimum score of 577, computer score of 233 or Internet-based score of 90 on the TOEFL or 7.0 on IELTS. Students must maintain a 3.0 minimum grade point average throughout the program.
