The concentration in International Business (IB) is designed to prepare students for today's global business world. IB is an interdisciplinary program covering the various business disciplines as well as course work in a minor, either area studies or foreign language. Foreign language proficiency is required. In addition, one of the study abroad options is also required: 1) a short-term faculty-led CSU course; 2) a semester in a foreign university approved by CSU; or 3) a semester internship with AIESEC or other internship program. The Chair of the Department of Organization and Management can waive this requirement (e.g., international students need not study abroad). Study abroad courses can be regarded as equivalent courses in substitution of the IB program requirements depending on the type of study abroad courses taken on an individual basis. This interdisciplinary approach is designed as a foundation for starting international careers. Graduates work in varied international areas such as export/import operations, sales/marketing, project management, accounting/finance, consulting, travel, governmental and non-governmental organizations.
