Study of superconductivity and magnetism in solids. Fundamental and technological importance. Type I and Type II superconductivity. BCS theory. High-Tc superconductivity. Interplay of superconductivity and magnetism. Origins and characterization of magnetization types. Prerequisite: PHYS 175A, PHYS 275 or instructor consent.
