Geochemical processes in the oceans; low temperature thermodynamics of aqueous reactions, weathering, oxidation-reduction and biologically mediated reactions, processes occurring at the sea floor and air-sea interface. Prerequisite: Graduate standing; MS 143, quantitative analysis, one year of calculus or instructor consent. Misc/Lab: Lecture 2 hours; lab/field work 6 hours. Notes: Offered spring semester.
