An Introduction to Mathematical Cryptography

Description
Introduction to mathematics that has been useful in cryptography with a focus on the underlying mathematics (abstract algebra, number theory, probability, and combinatorics), and supporting applications (encryption, hash functions, blockchain). Additional topics may be covered. Prerequisite: MATH 42 and MATH 129A with C- or better, or instructor consent. Note: Recommended (but not required) one of MATH 108, MATH 163, MATH 126, MATH 127, MATH 142.
