Description
Introduction to natural language processing and automatic indexing/abstracting with emphasis on text processing. Topics include: semantic dictionary, lexical analysis, word frequency analysis and automatic selection of indexing tokens, term weighting, the vector space model and document representation.
Prerequisite: LIBR 252B or instructor consent.
