Description
Introduction to thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and heat transfer. Basic thermodynamics with first and second laws. Laminar and turbulent flow of incompressible fluids. Boundary layer analysis. Convection and steady state and transient conduction.
Prerequisite: "C-" or better in PHYS 51 and PHYS 52, or PHYS 72; MATH 32, MATH 33 and MATH 133A, CHEM 1A and CHEM 1B; also CE 99.
Misc/Lab: Lecture 2 hours/lab 3 hours.
