Plant Design

Technical and economic evaluation of a chemical processing plant, including most aspects of a typical industrial design. Major plant design project report required. Integrate global and social issues in engineering. GE Area: V when taken as part of CHE major sequence. Prerequisite: CHE 158 and CHE 160B; instructor consent. Passage of the Writing Skills Test (WST) or ENGL/LLD 100A with a C or better (C- not accepted), completion of Core General Education and upper division standing are prerequisites to all SJSU studies courses. Completion of, or co-registration in, 100W is strongly recommended. Corequisite: ENGR 195B Misc/Lab: Lecture 3 hours/lab 3 hours. Note: Meets GE Areas S and V when course is taken in combination with: CHE 160B, CHE 161, ENGR 195A and ENGR 195B
