Pattern Recognition and Analysis
Sampling design and statistical analysis of biological patterns. In this course, students design and execute a field experiment (one required weekend field trip) that incorporates multivariate measurements. Students analyze the data with Log Linear analysis, Logistic Regression, Principal Components Analysis, Canonical Correlation and various Regression techniques. Prerequisite: BIOL 5 (with grade of "C" or better) and satisfaction of ELM. Pre/Corequisite: BIOL 6. Misc/Lab: Lecture 2 hours/lab 3 hours.
