ELM and EPT Placement Information

All new students who do not show proof of exemption must take the Entry Level Math (ELM) and English Placement Test (EPT) and the results must be available before they will be allowed to enroll in courses. These tests are placement tools and have no bearing on eligibility for admission to the university. If you are unhappy with your ELM score, you may retake the test. However, the EPT can only be taken one time.

Students with disabilities must contact the Disability Resource Center at 408-924-6000 (voice) or 408-924-5990 (TTY) to arrange for testing accommodations.
